Broad participation of the peasantry to elect spokespersons for the National Land Commission

In which 55,871 farm workers from 524 parishes in the country exercised their right to vote, choosing a total of 625 spokespersons.

According to this balance, 50% of the electoral register took a step forward to form the CNT that will accompany public policies on land and production, directly and secretly choosing 524 parish spokespersons and 101 municipal ones.

34% of the representatives elected last weekend are peasant women, agricultural producers committed to productive work who are now incorporated into this new popular-based structure to strengthen organization, planning and justice in the countryside.

Carabobo, Portuguesa and Apure were the states with the greatest participation in these elections, thanks to the significant mobilization of peasant movements, federations, communes and producer organizations, which once again relied on the guidelines of President Nicolás Maduro to deepen the agrarian policy of hand in hand with popular power.

It is important to note that throughout the week the election of parish and municipal spokespersons in the Capital District and the states of Falcón, Delta Amacuro and Amazonas will be taking place, to total results and successfully conclude the formation of the CNT.
